JESUS Christ made it plainly clear to the people in the previous verse ..."when I tell the truth, you just" [toward lower level selfserving interests] "naturally don’t believe me!" If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?" (http://0www.20m.com/jesusjohn8:46.html)

John 8:47 New Living Translation "Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.",
